Prerequisite: Cobra Strike Sometimes, it's not enough - or possible - to hit first. Sometimes it is necessary to strike back. Scion with this knack a really good a this during combat. When a scion possessing this knack is attacked in combat, he may pay three points of legend to get a counterstrike. This counterstrike takes place before the damage - if the attack hits - is rolled. The scion makes a normal attack against the defense of his enemy and if this attack hits, both damage rolls occur at the same time. It's only possible to strike the enemy which triggered the retaliation, no one else.

The Scion using this knack suffers a defense penalty as normal, after this strike, and also his speed counter resets, counting from this attack on (and not from his original action), unless he now would be faster than before, in which case the original speed count stays as it is.

This knack may be used several times during a tick, but only once per attack. If done so, the legend points must be spent each time the knack is used and also the DV penalty stacks after each use of this knack. One cannot use Retaliation on an attack which is already a counterattack in any way. This knack can only be activated, if the character using it isn't immobile or surprised, is conscious, and his enemy is within range. He can only use this knack with a firearm, if the weapon is loaded and able to be used again in this tick. The GM may restrict the use of this knack, when he feels, that the Scion in question isn't able to sense the attack or that he can't move properly.
